This is when an otherwise elaborate accessory stop taking its toll on the beauty of your home setup. Hard drives are known to be clunky and plain but when LaCie showed off their line of exclusive hard drives at CES we couldn’t be any less impressed by the impetus they put in the design. The Chrome line by Neil Poulton was the first to be unveiled with an elevated form that paid homage to the 1935 bronze statue from Constantin Brancusi. The hand-assembled enclosure is treated with a chrome mirror polish to give it the sophisticated look. The 1 TB drive is docked with the support of Neodymium magnets that can be conveniently detached. A blower takes care of the heating needs, especially with data transfer speeds of up to 940 Mbps.
Next was the Porsche Design Drive that arrived in an aluminum enclosure and was dished out in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB variants. The scratch-resistant surface will ensure that it looks new as ever. Thanks to the USB-C technology, the drive can effectively charge a laptop when connected to a power source.
