Everyone’s creating opportunities to charge smartphones quickly and easily. Strangely, there aren’t too many solutions to cool phones down, especially during activities where heating could be more probable. Chevrolet worked on the insight of how phones heat up during navigation and have worked on a cool Active Phone Cooling technology to cool down phones. This air-cooling system works when the HVAC is turned on. The air conditioning for your phone is housed on a wireless charging bin that gets rid of messy cables. The 2016 Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Volt and Cruze models will bring in the technology.
“Innovation doesn’t mean reinventing the wheel,” said Impala engineer Dan Lascu, “Sometimes simplicity offers the most elegant solution to a problem.” This cooling compartment can do a lot to ensure your phone cools down while you overuse it. In fact, it is quite insightful to create something like this for a car because that’s where you use music, navigation and are constantly switching into and out of network zones.
