How do you celebrate a car (model) 45 molten years of being on the top? One, you put it in the hall of fame, turning it into a collector’s edition. Or, work on a special edition that brings together everything that made the car a show stopper. Seems like Chevrolet for its Camaro decided to go with the latter. The company plans to built an anniversary iteration of its ‘fiery and moltern’ model that completed 45 good, hot years.
To be released as a special 2012 edition, the this coupe and convertible will come in 2LT and 2SS trim levels, and will boast of a red-and-silver rally stripe on the Carbon Flash Metallic paint; badges under front fender emblems; 20-inch wheels; silver-finished fog lamp and taillight bezels; jet-black leather-trimmed seats with anniversary logos; white instrument panel with the special logo; red, white and blue stitching on the seats, steering wheels, shift knob/boot, door armrests and console lid, and the special logo on the steering wheel and sill plates. Phew!
Scheduled to present the first look at the special-edition car at the Camaro5 Fest II in Arizona on Friday, the good news is that the edition will be produced as per demand, so you have a bright chance to own one too.
Meanwhile news is that the new Camaro convertible, which came out in February, will also be up for sale beginning next year, hopefully along with the anniversary series. Keep fingers crossed!
