It seems like Cisco is going from strength to strength. Having bought out the company that makes Flip camcorders, it is going wild with new designs and applications. The Flip range includes some of the most popular, compact and affordable “shoot and show” camcorders – perfect for shooting footage for sites like YouTube. Flip’s most recent design, the SlideHD, has 4 hours of recording time, widescreen playback, “incredible storage” and a price tag of $279.99. Cisco has announced plans to launch a WiFi-compatible Flip in time for Christmas. In addition, Cisco reps have been publicizing plans for a Media Experience Engine for Apple products that would allow users to access Flash content. They are also developing video chat apps that will support Apple FaceTime and the iPhone 4. Launch dates for Cisco’s video chat applications have yet to be confirmed.
