Now here’s some great news for those of us with a Peter-pan Complex who believe growing up is strictly for adults; the world’s most popular manufacturers of building blocks aka LEGO, has just announced a series of uber cool wrist watches for grown ups. If you’ve been a fan like me and always felt left out because of the lack of adult-type LEGO accessories, it seems like the company was paying attention. Come November, the company will be launching a wide range of watches in true LEGO styling for men and women of all ages. What makes these watches even more interesting is the fact that that they will feature swap-able parts just like the ones designed for their younger fans.
The range has been dubbed the LEGO Watch System because of their unique ‘build-able’ type style. There’ll be plenty of styles to choose from and of, course the options to buy multiple and customize them. These LEGO timepieces aren’t just your run-off-the-mill watches with LEGO motifs and designs, some are a little ore sophisticated with features that include backlights, chronograph, and calendar dials with day and date, magnifier lens on the crystals for the date and more. Don’t expect them to be made of premium materials so I’m thinking they’re also not going to be too pricey either. While most of the cases seem to be made mostly of plastic, a few will also be available in partial aluminium or steel housing. The crystals used in the construction are said to be of mineral glass and if you’re worried about water resistance, don’t be. Some of the models in the range are also said to be about 50 meters to 100 meters water resistant.
The same company that makes the watches for the younger generation of fans, ClicTime, will be making these. They’ll be priced in the rage of $85 – $185 which is not too bad all things considered.
