Creative Xdock HD gets fancy new Speakers; ups iPod content to 720p / 1080i


creative.jpgCreative has revamped its Xdock and the Zen Stone Plus MP3 player. The Xdock is an iPod dock that can send audio wirelessly to X-fi receivers and send iPod video content to a TV. It has been upped to Xdock HD and features an HDMI out port. The Xdock HD will upscale video content to 720p or 1080i depending on the connections. It works with the new iPods line as well as previous generations. The device has the capability of applying Xtreme Fidelity effects on your music. The two new speakers introduced at the show include the GigaWorks HD50i and the GigaWorks T40. The HD50i doubles as an iPod dock and can sync an iPod with a PC when docked. The GigaWorks T40 is a taller, double-woofer 2.0 set. It is made to work with a flat panel TV home set-up. The Zen Stone Plus has also received an overhaul; it now comes in many new matte color finishes, and has a built-in speaker. The 2GB player has a screen, FM radio, play modes, and an equalizer.


The Xdock HD should be in stores in Spring 2008 for $399. The $200 GigaWorks HD50i speaker it will hit stores in February. The T40 is available now for $150. The Zen Stone Plus will hit the stores this spring for $60.
