3D printing might be a very common thing in the near future. At CES this year, we saw various 3D printed objects like shoes, clothes, pens and statues etc. KDDI, the Japanese phone operator in China is taking the help of 3D printing to woo its customers. They have a 3D printing lab which can be used by customers to create customized smartphone cases within minutes. There are about 80 designs and five different colours to choose from, you just need a user ID to login. Customers can also engrave letters and numbers on the inside of the case; you can also insert a personalized message which will make the case a perfect gift for birthdays and anniversaries. The templates for the case were designed by Keita Suzuk at the Tokyo based product design centre.
The smartphone case is available for a wide variety of models which include VL LGV31, Xperia Z3 SOL26, Xperia Z1 SOL23, Xperia UL SOL22, Xperia VL SOL21, HTC J butterfly HTL23, iPhone is iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S. The case will be delivered to you within two weeks of your order and you will have to pay for 3980 yens.
