Daimler Smart E-Bike is a power packed bicycle

Daimler’s city car brand Smart has announced that it will be launching an electric bike next year. This would be the first one from the company and its doing this in co-operation with German electric bike manufacturer Grace. This Smart E-Bike will hit the roads of Europe and North America first and can also be powered by muscle alone. You can bring its 250-watt motor to life simply pressing a button and it has a choice of four power levels.

With its default 400 Wh lithium-ion battery, the bike becomes the most powerful in its league. The makers say that it can last for over 100 kilometers but that depends on the power level you select and the manner of cycling. There are two ways of charging it up- you can use the outlet or even the act of riding also does it. It also lets you charge your mobile phone through the integrated USB socket. The new version of the bike will be up for display at the Eurobike show in Friedrichshafen and the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
