These days merging clothing and tech is not something our jaws would drop over. It’s become quite mundane actually. But, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t also turned designers and innovators a little bizarre. For instance, we have here the DJ Hoodie that’s designed with a 4 channel zipper switch, fabric buttons with LED indicators and fabric pressure sensors. It’s actually a set of two hoodies that are connected to each other make the wearers look like some sort of goblins. These clothes can then interface with a computer with Arduino, using Firmata library and Pduino. Each Hoodie comes with controls for sampling channels and adding choice of filters on PD patch. The knitted stretch sensor connecting the two hoodies modifies a parameter of the applied filter as performers move their heads. Talk about thoroughly immersing yourself into your music.
