The DIR-685 was first introduced in January at CES and now the company has started shipping them. This device comes with a built-in draft N Wi-Fi module that allows it to communicate with network attached storage devices. It also has a 3.2 inch LCD screen where you can play streaming video or use it as a digital photo frame. It also displays status information in the form of graphs and gauges. You can program the screen to display weather forecasts and other live internet content. The NAS feature supports both UPnP server functions and also BitTorrent downloads.
