The Duck Hunter is a combination of a battery-powered flapping bird plus an infrared light gun. A sensor on the bird registers the hit from the gun – on the first and second hits causing the flapping to pause just a little and on the third shot dropping completely out of the air. The first version is going to be out within the next month or two which will include a gun and one or two birds. Another model is expected shortly which will have a two-player mode where one person will control the bird and the other will try to shoot it out of the sky.
The Duck Hunter is expected at a retail price of $30 and $40 for the one and two birds respectively. I recommend this to train your kids so that they can get a hang of it, so the next time they go hunting, they come back with fresh ones for dinner.
