Facebook becomes a gifting hotspot this holiday season

Today, Facebook opened its Gifts feature. Available only in the US and launched in time for the holiday season, this service allows folks across the States to buy and gift their friends and loved ones, via Facebook. This system has already been tested by millions over the last two months and the network is confident about it receiving a good reception publicly. Facebook will leverage its tie-ups with babyGap, Brookstone, Dean & Deluca and Random House to spread the Christmas cheers. Additionally the site has also gone on to increase its list of charities that can help bring the true Christmas spirit.

Here’s how it works. The users click the icon. Then they choose the gift and payment information. The recipient with then share their address details as well as coordinate on appropriate size or color of the gift. This smart, practical gifting solution seems to be part of a new world order for now.
