Proving that social networking is the new face of modern communications, the Flipout, Motorola’s latest Android phone has sites including Twitter, Facebook and MySpace right up front on its homescreen. Pivot the screen and you will find a 5-line QWERTY keyboard for ease of tweeting or posting comments on your friends’ latest wall posts. The Flipout uses enhanced MOTOBLUR technology to sync your friends’ messages, and stream your emails and social networks into one continuous feed, so that even when out of sight, your loved ones will never be out of mind. The phone includes standard Wi-Fi, GPS and FM radio, and also has Flash video enabled in the browser, three power saving battery modes and a data manager to keep track of your expenditure, especially handy for those using Pay-As-You-Go.
Other features aren’t so flash. The phone only has a 3MP camera, 1170mAh battery, 2.8-inch QVGA screen and a 2GB microSD card. But the phone’s compact, sleek and unique social networking-focused design means we’ll be flipping out waiting for its release.
