Ford develops iPad application for use at automobile dealerships

Car dealers have relied on PCs to keep tabs on transactions and other customer-related information ever since computers first showed up in automobile showrooms. However, with the dawn of tablet computing, auto-manufacturer Ford has decided to use Apple iPads at its dealerships instead with the introduction of a specially designed application which will enable sales consultants to access information in regards to the cars on display and also show presentations, track customer preferences and the like. Fourteen dealerships were first introduced to the iPad application earlier this year as part of a test program and Ford seems pretty pleased with the results with a New Jersey already drawing plans to make full use of the application!
