Fujitsu has finally come in terms with other competitors to introduce the presence sensor in its air conditioners. The sensor will move in a horizontal manner within the range of 120 degrees. What the sensor does is when people are present, it will decrease the temperature and when no one is around, the temperature will rise. When the sensor senses no action for ten minutes, it turns off and the will turn on when the person comes back in. If the person doesn’t come back in, then after three hours the air-conditioner is turned off.
Three hours is a little too long because the person could be back by then and will need cooling all over again. So the power saving function is a little weak, but a start nonetheless. The new range comes in four varieties – the Nocria S and Z for living rooms and the J and R series for individual rooms.
