Microsoft, in some form of oversized pre-launch promotion has placed a giant Xbox One somewhere in Vancouver, Canada. The promotion, being called One Source will allow Canadian Xbox gamers to pledge their gamertags to try and “unlock” the secrets that this humongous Xbox One holds. Although reports haven’t quite stated just how large this oversized console is, it’s estimated to be about 2.5-3 meters in height. Just how the gamertags will be accepted whether it’ll be via online options only or directly entered into the giant console is not yet revealed. As of now however, Canadian Xbox Live online space does however have an offer gamers one can avail of one-of-a-kind experiences and rewards by pledging gamertags to the One Source project.
There were a reported 19% of gamertags already submitted so we’ll have to wait awhile longer to see just what happens when it reaches a full capacity and what goodies await the pledges or what will happen when the “system” has collected enough tags. All I can say is that Microsoft is going all out in ‘big’ way for the launch of the new console. I’d like to see what Sony will do for their upcoming PS4 launch. Will the gimmick be bigger or more subtle in form? Let’s wait and see.
