Glass which generates electricity

California based XsunX, Inc, has developed the Power Glass™ — an innovative solar technology that allows glass windows to produce electricity from the power of the sun, announced today that it has begun shipments of Power Glass™ samples to manufacturers for use in product development and testing. The Company recently began working with manufacturers in the building materials, glass, and automotive industries whose creativity in the market place will help drive the development of exciting applications for Power Glass™. The Company plans to adapt the on-going results of these working relationships into its manufacturing process line to meet the needs of its future licensees.

“These first shipments not only represent the importance of working with innovative product manufacturers, but also mark the expansion for the Company from pure R&D operations into the business development arena,” stated Tom Djokovich, CEO of XsunX. “We plan to continue to expand the number of working relationships we have, and our entire team is committed to driving these product development tests into revenue producing relationships as soon as possible,” concluded Mr. Djokovich.
In addition to working with product developers the Company recently began expanding its R&D capabilities by adding new process development equipment and technical expertise in the key research areas of thin-films and laser process development. These added efforts are producing strong results on thin film plastics that may soon provide new working prototypes of Power Glass™ on transparent polyesters such as Polyethylene Terphtalate, or PET, and Polyethylenenapthalate, or PEN. These plastics require low processing temperatures, but represent some of the thinnest, lightest, and least expensive substrates for solar cell manufacturing.
