We’ve been waiting for awhile to see Dell’s next Android powered device since the Mini 3 hit the shelves and we heard they had plans to launch a slew of new devices. So next up is the Aero. Regarding this handset there’s some good news and some bad news. The good news first – it’s the being called the world’s lightest Android phone and it’s priced at $100 with a 2-year AT&T contract. Now the bad news, like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and companions, the Aero too will come with an outdated Android 1.5 set up. Whether or not it’ll be upgradeable to Éclair or Froyo is unknown, but I’m sure a single level up would be in the cards at the very least.
The Aero comes with a 624Mhz processor, a 5MP camera, 2Gb of internal memory with microSD card support (up to 32GB), a 3.5-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS (with A-GPS). Even if its the lightest in a literal sense, it’s got quite a few features that carry quite a bit of weight.
