Jay Freeman also known as Saurik tweeted that he has jailbroken the much awaited Google Glass. Clearly not much is known about the Glass but here is what a commenter on Reddit had to say –
Google left Glass oem unlocked, meaning you can replace the bootloader and use a third party bootloader (e.g. CWM) to install busybox and get root that way.
However what this tweet is about is exploiting a known bug in Android in order to get root without unlocking the bootloader and also without wiping the device’s data (which will occur if you flash a new bootloader).
It is notable even with the device oem unlocked. Not least of all because it circumvents Google’s data-wipe security feature.
