And now the Casio-version, rugged Android phone is slated to be unveiled on Verizon. Called the G’zOne Commando, leaked images will show you that this is very much a G-Shock built into an Android phone, which is not surprising since the former comes from the house of Casio. This macho-phone is Mil-STD 8210G certified for being shockproof, waterproof and dust resistant. It also packs an 800MHz processor with 512MB of RAM, a 3.6″ 480 x 800 WVGA screen, a 5 MP rear camera, and will ship with Android 2.2. It will also come preloaded with G’zGEAR apps specifically for the rough terrains, namely the thermometer, pedometer and a digital compass.
Sounds exciting, or a tad bit too stereotypically manly? No word on pricing or release date, so watch this space.
