Trust the Californians to come up with an innovative ‘out-there’ way to maintain discipline in the streets. The police down in San Jose, aside from their regular field kit, will soon be equipped with head mounted camera’s that neatly sit over their ears. The captured footage will be uploaded to a central server, but there’s no clear cut information on how they function. One report says that they would turn on when questioning a suspect/witness, but what kind of smart technology is being used that the system would know who are suspects and not just a guy on the street or in an office or anybody for that matter that the officer engages in conversation with? The system called AXON also comes with a computer that is clipped to the belt.
