HTC One Max officially announced with 5.9 Inch display and new HTC Sense 5.5

In the past few weeks, HTC One Max was frequently leaked including its purported features and specifications along with some blurry images. Just as in the case with other smartphones that were leaked this year, all the information was more or less accurate. HTC has finally made the One Max official and save some minor changes, it’s a HTC One M7 repackaged with a bigger 5.9 inch display. Most of the hardware including the front and rear cameras, chipset and processor has been lifted off from the M7. The HTC One Max measures 164.5 x 82.5 x 10.29mm and weighs in at 217g. Entering the phablet territory, it’s bigger and heavier than Samsung Galaxy Note III which is its direct competition.

Cased in aluminum chassis, similar to HTC One M7, it has a removable back plate which gives access to SIM card tray and MicroSD card slot. For the first time, HTC has put a power button on the side of a smartphone. The 5.9 inch Super LCD display on the front has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (373ppi). The smartphone features Sense 5.5, which has very minor tweaks from the previous version, working atop Android 4.3. It’s powered by a massive 3300mAh battery. Flip the phone to its rear and you’ll find a fingerprint sensor just below the camera which is the most noticeable addition to the package. It will be available immediately in the European and Asian markets after the launch event scheduled for tomorrow.
