Hummer could be history

Has GM realized the relation between $4 and more Gas prices and Gas guzzling trucks they produce? General Motors has announced the closing four trucks and SUV plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, affecting 10,000 workers, as surging fuel prices hasten a dramatic shift to smaller vehicles. On the Hummer, General Motors CEO, Rick Wagoner said “GM is undertaking a strategic review of the Hummer brand, to determine its fit with GM’s evolving product portfolio” in light of changing market conditions.

Hummers have earned a reputation as America’s addiction with over consumption, and its sales have been way behind that of its environmentally friendly hybrids. Now unless GM thinks of putting some serious fuel solutions inside that giant elephant of a car it’s bye-bye humvie for now.
