A couple of Canadians haven’t been too happy with their beeping cellphones. The reason is that the duo is being charged for every incoming message that they receive. The victims, one Mr. Eric Cormier and a damsel in distress by the name of Natalie Martin, both subscribers of Bell Mobility and Telus respectively have been charged for incoming messages in their cellphones. A suit was filed a couple of Mondays ago against Bell Mobility by a Montreal law firm whereas in the Martin case, there was a case filed on July 14th. I wonder why both the customers are wasting their time suing the companies. Just throw the damned phone into the ocean and nobody suffers.
It is rather unfair to charge customers for incoming messages since they are something that cannot be controlled by the users themselves. For instance, an incoming called can be cut but a message just ends up on your inbox and there is not such rule that binds you to pay for the service but alas, you end up poorer by a few cents.
