Since a while now, GoPro has been the undisputed champion when it comes to developing and manufacturing rough-and-tough cameras that can be put through the harshest of uses and yet spew out beautifully eye-pleasing videos. JVC recently jumped aboard the action-cam bandwagon however and has come up with a sturdy competition for the GoPro. Called the JVC GC-XA1 ADIXXION camcorder, this camera is waterproof up to 16.4 feet (5 m) and is freeze-proof, dust-proof and can safely be dropped from a height of 6.5 feet (2 m). Capable of recording 1920 x 1080/30p videos at 30 frames per second (fps) or 60p videos at 720p, the camera measures in at just 2.9 x 2 x 1.3-inch (74 x 53 x 35 mm) and weighs in at 0.28 pound (126g) sporting a 5 megapixel CMOS sensor, 170 degree fixed focus lens, 5x digital zoom and a 1.5-inch LCD monitor to top it all.
