LEGO to spend $500 million on offshore German wind farm

Have you ever wondered just what LEGO does with all its riches? Well, you probably might’ve ignored the financial background of the company, given that you were too busy building childhood castles with these lovable building blocks. Rest assured, LEGO puts its funds to good use. The company has now invested a good $500 million in green energy, and has planned an offshore wind farm to generate renewable juices. The investment accounts for 32% of the 277 megawatt Borkum Riffgund wind farm projected located about 35 miles off the Northwest German coast. The investment will help generate renewable energy for the German grid and will help LEGO substantially lighten its carbon footprint.
