Lenovo recalls 100,000 notebook batteries

usconsumerprodsafe.jpgJust like what Dell did to save their highly combustible customers, Lenovo have declared a recall of their batteries for potential fire hazard. This recall will be used on notebook battery packs. How safe we all shall be henceforth. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is responsible for this, in alliance with Lenovo. So far, around 100,000 Lenovo packs have the recall in US and around 105,000 sold worldwide. Lenovo states that the hazard is that the batteries could overheat and pose a fire hazard if they were dropped on a corner. Lenovo has received four reports of batteries over heating and causing minor eye irritation to one user and minor property damage for another.

Let’s hope this helps in keeping away all explosions and hazards that batteries are capable of.
