LG has teamed up with Razer and MediaTek to introduce the world’s first Bluetooth Ultra-Low Latency (BT ULL) controller at the LG webOS Summit 2024, held on September 27. This groundbreaking innovation was demonstrated using an LG webOS smart TV alongside Razer’s Bluetooth gaming controller, showcasing an impressive 1ms input lag that sets a new standard for cloud gaming.

Razer, a global leader in gaming peripherals, developed the first-ever controller featuring BT ULL technology. To emphasize the dramatic performance upgrade, LG and Razer compared the BT ULL-enabled controller with a standard Bluetooth controller. The comparison highlighted the superior responsiveness, reduced input lag, and enhanced control precision, offering a noticeable edge across popular cloud-based games, including FPS, fighting, and racing titles.
In an industry first, LG plans to roll out a certification program for third-party controllers, ensuring seamless integration with LG webOS smart TVs. Razer is set to be the first company to receive LG’s BT ULL certification, cementing their position as a pioneer in the field. The BT ULL technology, co-developed with MediaTek, will be embedded in MediaTek’s Wi-Fi “MT7921” chipset, which also features the company’s efficient Wi-Fi 6 technology from its Filogic series.
This collaboration aims to enhance the gaming experience for LG webOS smart TV owners, offering near-instantaneous response times for online multiplayer cloud games. LG’s premium OLED and QNED TVs, supporting refresh rates of 120Hz or higher, are slated for release in 2025 and will be equipped with BT ULL technology for unparalleled gaming performance.
