LG 55” OLED TV with 4-Color Pixels to hit store shelves by the end of 2012

With the New Year, LG has brought along hints of a new OLED TV release, scheduled to show up somewhere in the fourth quarter of the year. Now, if you’re one to believe in the Mayan stone-calendar theory, you probably wouldn’t be too enthusiastic about this, though we simply couldn’t resist blabbering about this new display anyways! 55 inches large, this OLED will debut at the upcoming CES 2012 and sports a Color Refiner that helps keep the consistency of colors when the TV’s viewed from different angles. Also, the new 55” OLED comes with a 4-Color Pixels technology for better color depiction using red, green, blue and white instead of the standard RGB. All in all, this display seems to be a pretty to-wait-for release, even if it does show up closer to the day the world ends.
