Porsche’s third model in the Boxster lineup, the 2010 Boxster Spyder made its big debut at LA Auto Show very recently. The new 3.4-liter flat-six engine is capable of providing 10hp more than the Boxster S with a whopping 320hp. The company has managed to strip off quite a bit of weight from the new Spyder, 176 pounds to be more precise leaving it just 2,811 pounds. This actually makes it the lightest model in Porsche’s lineup. It’s got a new lightweight carbon fiber-ribbed soft top and lacks Air conditioning, cup holders and an audio system as well. While that sounds ridiculous, Porsche will allow you to add those as accessories if you choose to. I’m not sure who wouldn’t.

The vehicle also comes equipped with a unique rear decklid, low side windows, aluminum door skins and interior door panels with straps swapped from the 911 GT3 RS. The car will also be riding on an all-new sport suspension which is 20 mm lower than the other models thereby dropping the vehicles center of gravity for better handling. To sweeten the deal it’s also fitted with a standard limited-slip differential and lightweight wheels. Arriving in Feb of 2010 the pricing starts at $61,200. What did you expect, speed, style, sex appeal all in a seriously awesome lightweight design don’t come cheap.
