Maplin has been busy flaunting its new A93GC MP4 player that poses to be bigger threat for Apple’s iPod with its killer set of features. So how does Maplin plan to take on the mighty iPod with their 2 GB player Maplin claims it’s ‘easier on the eye’ than the iPod Nano. Besides their pathetic USP the new player does score on features as it offers video playback and games. But I doubt this will have any effect on the iPod Nano as there are already many PMP’s offering all these and cost less than the Nano but they have all failed miserably against the might Apple.

The Maplin A93GC will be available from November 1st for £60 ($ 110) for a limited time and by the end of the year it will sell for £100 ($ 190).
