We’re constantly trying to develop technology that negates the use of our hands. I’m not sure if I consider that progress or just plain laziness. You be the judge in this case where at a booth at CeBit, the Berlin Brain-Computer Interface Group showcased their mind controlled Pin Ball machine. The system requires you to wear a rather ridiculous looking shower cap (that uses EEG technology) like headset that also has a nodule that’s attached to your nose (???). The headset and nose strap reads your brain waves and after undergoing an initial training program to ‘get accustomed’ to your brain waves you can start your game without the use of any of your limbs. There’s no arguing that the technology is quite fascinating but it sure isn’t doing much for masculinity.
