MIT’s augmented reality TV with ‘surround vision’

As you may have guessed by now, the whole concept behind the ‘surround vision’ concept deals with augmented reality TV tech. To make it simple, this technology uses footage that is shot from different angles and this footage can be viewed by moving your phone to the side of the screen and viewing it as a part of the current scene. The prototype uses a magnetometer since it performs better than an accelerometer.

This may bring a new dimension into being. Home entertainment, especially sports events, will be well detailed for users to get a 360-view of the same.
