Motorola today announced at the 3GSM that they are working on a UMTS version of the Motorola Q, this announcement will surely make GSM-lovers happy. However CDMA carriers will first offer the Q with CDMA/EVDO capabilities later this quarter. The GSM enabled QWERTY handset will go under operator trials by Q4 of this year. So you can expect the GSM version of the Windows Mobile powered smartphone by 2007. So if you dont have the patience to wait for 12 months be ready to shift your wireless provider or get the Samsung SGH-i320. At this time no operator customer relationships have been announced and pricing hasn’t been disclosed.
