While a soccer ball is just a soccer ball to most of us, Nike sees it as a great way to blend technology with the sport. Soon, some of the biggest soccer leagues in the world, including the Barclays Premier League in England, La Liga in Spain and Serie A in Italy will begin using the new Nike Incyte Ball, a technology-packed football. What makes this ball a world apart from the conventional soccer ball you’ve been kicking post-school hours all your life? For one, the Incyte comes with the Nike RaDaR (Rapid Decision and Response) technology that enables players to see the ball quicker.


The ball sports a five-layer construction, providing better player control. Also, the Incyte’s high-elasticity layer on the surface allows for a cleaner strike and helps the ball travel and faster speeds when kicked. The ball also uses a micro-textured casing for a more accurate ball trajectory. The ball will appear on soccer fields by the 1st of July. This ball will also be available at Nike stores from the 1st of July.
