The 1 system here makes use of a hybrid phase and contrast detection auto focus, switching from a 73-point phase-detect mode into contrast detection with AF illuminator in low light conditions, the native ISO range of 100-3200 with a Hi setting is available for a 6400 equivalent. The company has also unveiled a new 1 lens mount for these cameras. The bunch of 4 new lenses announced for the system includes 1 NIKKOR 10mm f/2.8 pancake,1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom, 1 NIKKOR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR PD-ZOOM and1 NIKKOR VR 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6. The new adapter here lets users use the F-mount lenses with these 1 system cameras.
Coming to the Nkion V1 model, this mirrorless interchangeable lends camera is differentiated by its built-in EVF, offering 1440k-dots of resolution as an alternative to the 921k-dot 3.0-inch LCD. But there is no built-in flash here. Nikon has compensated this with an accessory port that will accept external flash units. Both the models will capture 12 bit NEF RAW files. It will hit US stores on October 20 with a 10-30mm kit lens for $900 and in monochrome color options.
The J1 sibling is quite similar to V1 without an optical finder but offers a built-in flash. Its 3.0-inch monitor offers a slightly lower 460k-dot resolution. Like V1, this can record 1080 HD videos at 60i. It also offers the slow motion movie mode at up to 1200 fps. It will hit stores at the same time as V1 with 10-30mm kits for $650. This one is meant to give out a more beginner-friendly appeal and hence will be available in color options of white, silver, black, red and pink.
