Nintendo Japan is recalling 200,000 power adapters for their flagship Nintendo DS and DS Lite portable gaming systems. The problem has not caused any injury or damage yet as in rare cases when plugged in the power cable heats up which can cause damage, injury and even fire. The faulty adapters are for units shipped from Jan 06 (DS) and July 06 (DS Lite) however not all units are faulty only those adapters marked JRC are recalled. Nintendo has tied up with Yamato Transport Co for recalls and customers can call up at 0120-210-557 for more details about the exchange procedure.
So far only Nintendo Japan has issued a recall.
