Nokia 1520 with 6 inch full HD display revealed in some detail via leaked images

We’ve been hearing news that Nokia was working on a large 6 inch Windows Phone phablet with a full HD display. The truth has been unveiled in a few leaked images of a large Nokia device dubbed the Lumia 1520. According to the leaked specs, the 1520 will feature 2GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage (plus microSD card support for added memory) and all of it will run in conjunction with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor. There are a few additions to the UI like an extra column of Live Tiles on the Home Page, an updated Driving Mode that mutes calls and messages when hooked up to your vehicles in-house Bluetooth system.

All of this could either be Nokia exclusive or courtesy of the upcoming Windows update GDR3 (General Distribution 3) The design look just like any other Lumia series handset complete with a slightly raised camera lens protrusion. I’m not a fan of this form as it tends to offset the balance of the handset especially when it’s placed on a flat surface that has no real grip. A few other additions to the system include a Rotation lock, better multitasking functionality and a few tweaks for custom sounds for messages, calls etc. The camera has also been designed to simultaneously capture images in two resolutions – 16 and 5 megapixels. We’re not quite sure what the point of this is but perhaps it’d make uploading them to social networks lighter on the connection. There’s been no price announcement yet but the handset that’s been codenamed the Bandit, with be launching with AT&T within the next few weeks.
