Porsche is taking preorders for the much-awaited 918 Spyder hybrid. The hybrid car was intended to remain a concept, but given the positive response and support the car maker had seen since; the supercar is very much a reality today. Porsche’s hybrid version is a complete delight with the ability to go 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and on a top speed of 199 mph. It also features a high revving 500-plus horsepower V8 engine assisted by two electric motors with a total of at least 218 horsepower, inspired by the Porsche RS Spyder racing engine. Just like the Panamera S Hybrid, the car offers an impressive fuel economy at 78 miles per gallon and 16 miles on pure electric charge at up to 94 mph.

The supercar will set you back by $845,000 when it goes on sale in 2013, but will be worth every penny, as you’ll be one of only 918 customers, that will take the Spyder hybrid home. Watch her in action.
