Open Mirror iPod dock integrates sports gesture control

iPod docks are, more often than not, designed to stand out and gleam in the usual clutter of technological knick-knack. This recent design called the Open Mirror by Digital Habits doubles up as an iPod dock and a full-fledged mirror to stare airily into. Shaped as an oval, the mirror is split into two with the top section sliding away to reveal the iPod dock behind. Integrating speakers and motion-tracking controls, the Open Mirror uses illuminated controls under the bottom edge with IR proximity sensors to handle play/pause, volume up/down and track skip/back controls. The Open Mirror makes for a perfect addition to a kitchen or a bathroom, where you simply wouldn’t bother touching buttons with wet or greasy fingers.
