This painfully clumsy robotic horse may be every farmer’s cost-saver

robo-horseA Chinese farmer with a knack for inventing has gone on to create his very own horse that’s not only mechanical but also quite a smirk-generator. Su Daocheng is a 60-year old farmer from Hubei Province in China, who claims that his new ‘invention’ can harvest crops more cost effectively. His belief that a mechanical horse consumes no food or water and needs no healthcare could be proven but hey, this messy buggy doesn’t even beat a turtle’s speed. The robot took around two months to construct and stands a meter and a half tall. A go-kart engine powers this apocalyptic beast and sure makes a racket in doing so.

We hope that this really slow horse makes it to the fields before the neighbors complain about the noise. The invention may be cute and all but in all practical purposes, it doesn’t seem to be something that gets the job done in time. A single round across the field could probably take an entire sowing season.
