Panasonic Japan has announced the VIERA VT2 series which feature two models for now the TH-P54VT and TH-P50VT2 which are also the world’s first 3D Plasma HDTV’s. To be made available in 54″ and 50″ respectively the TV’s will ship with active 3D glasses for viewing 3D content which are also a strong negative point for 3D content. Coming to the specs the Plasma’s sport a resolution of 1920 x 1080, contrast ratio of 500,000:1, Analog / Digital TV tuner, onboard 2.1 channel speakers and a host of AV connections. The TV’s will go on sale in Japan from April 23, the 54 incher will sell for 530,000 Yen ($ 5800) and the 50 incher for 430,000 Yen ($ 4700).
