Panasonic’s DMR-BR30 Blu-ray player with swappable hard drives

02a.jpgAnnounced for the much privileged Japanese market the Panasonic DMR-BR30 adds more than just a hard drive. It adds swappable hard drives. Now, that’s something we haven’t heard a lot about. This is pretty much inspired by the functionality of VHS cassettes. Of course, you do not have the liberty of having your own hard drives used on this one but will need the Panasonic DY-HDD500. It comes with a 500GB capacity hard drive and connects via USB. So far, this is the only recorder that has the functionality.

02b.jpgOther features of the DMR-BR30 include BDXL support, Ethernet, a digital TV Tuner Card, an SD card slot and an HDMI interface. It will be available by February 25th, 2011 for $600.
