Parrot AR. Drone 2.0 in an air-borne HD spy

The Parrot AR. Drone was first unveiled at CES 2010 and now the makers have given this smartphone-controlled peeking tom baby a huge spec-bump. The 2.0 version here sports hardware and software improvements which make the device easier to fly. It comes with a higher resolution camera, an upgraded app and a revamped control scheme which bestows the ease of precise controls on the user. Unlike the original version, this one can keep itself oriented to the pilot hence the controls won’t be reversed from the user’s perspective we he turns the drone to face himself.

This one comes embedded with 720p camera which can capture 720p videos and photos and relay it straight to your phone. It can also use any one of the two hulls: an indoor version encircles all blades to prevent damage from ramming into the walls whereas an outdoor version loses it to reduce wind resistance. Parrot says that the drone will arrive in Q2 this year with a price of $299 which is the same as the current model.
