The punishment was carried out by a terrorist group known as al-Shabab that amputated the right hands and left legs of the four accused thieves. They were tried and found guilt by al-Shabab, a radical Islamist militia group. The execution took place in Mogadishu, Somalia, in the presence of scores of onlookers.
