Portal display project enables you to stick your hand in a virtual world

Ever wished you could stick your hand right into the TV screen and feel your way around? Well, most Baywatch watchers have, and now here’s a project developed by a grad student at Art Center College of Design in LA that almost enables you to do so, visually! The Portal enables users to stick their hand into a screen and interact with a virtual world, or rather, augmented reality. And chiseling this into being seemed rather simple, using a display, a screen and a camera that captures images of your hand against the screen and mixes it up, showing the result on the front display. The technology possesses amazing potential and could indeed change the way we entertain ourselves in future!
