Psycho-Thriller Author James Patterson is the first to sell a million E-Books

James-Patterson.jpg When thinking of popular contemporary authors, James Patterson is not a name that springs to mind. However, he has just become the largest selling author of e-books. Most of Patterson’s thriller novels center on Alex Cross – a six foot three, 200 pound, athletic and completely fictional psychologist, who lives on Fifth Street in Washington D.C., with his girlfriend, Brianna (Bree) Stone. Although no single novel by Patterson has sold as well as Dan Brown’s similar psycho-thriller: The Da Vinci Code, the 65 tomes Patterson has churned out over the course of his 33-year career may explain his recent e-chart topping success.

Hachette claims that Patterson’s novels have sold 1.14 million copies in electronic form. However, since there is no official, 3rd party monitoring of e-book sales, Patterson’s publishers Hachette Book Group came to this conclusion having made independent calculations and comparing their records with other popular sales.
