QR coded coins are big among the Dutch

03.jpgHow far would you go to secure the integrity of your homeland and its heritage? How relevant does the idea of currency as a national symbol of status seem to be to you? Well, the Dutch geeks are surely making the most of the current particular trend among coins. Their very own currency is all set to be among the precious bits of secretive coded bits of hardware that will hold the information to a world of security communications that are taking roots among our paranoid kind. The coins add some spice and life to the otherwise dead coins that just jingle idly in our pockets. So we have 5 and 10 Euro coins that add QR codes to give more meaning to the way you deal with monetary objects. All this, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Dutch Mint.

There’s no clarification as yet as to what the QR code could be used for. So we’re taking it to be a pretty data collection operation.
