Ridley Scott to produce Youtube film

The ever-so-epic director and producer Ridley Scott (of Gladiator, Blade Runner and Alien fame) has charged himself with the mammoth task of making a movie of a day in the life of the world. Scott is teaming up with Kevin Macdonald (the man behind The Last King of Scotland) and a few other hundred filmmakers, one of whom could be you! The plan is for ordinary people around the world to record their lives on July 24th, as honestly as possible. If your footage makes the cut, you’ll be credited as a co-director, and 20 of the most prolific filmmakers will be flown to the premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Footage will be edited into a feature-length documentary and streamed on YouTube for free.

If you think your daily life is quirky enough to make the grade, and you are at least 13 years old, you have between July 17th and 24th to document and upload your video onto YouTube. Entrants can be from anywhere except countries restricted by US export controls.
