Samsung revives flip-phones, officially launches W789 Hennessy with dual 3.3 Inch screens

A good couple of years back flip phones were quite a fad. No one can forget the massive popularity of Moto Razr when it first came out. Smartphones with larger touchscreens slowly pushed it to oblivion. But it’s back! Samsung has officially launched SCH-W789 Hennessy, an all new flip phone. A few leaks did warn us that it’s in the pipelines but Samsung’s Chinese website today officially announced its arrival.

The device has a pair of TFT displays measuring 3.3 Inch with a resolution of 320×480 pixels. The front screen is accompanied with three capacitive buttons, similar to older gen Android smartphones. The flip phone is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad core processor with 1GB of RAM. It’ll come with a Micro SD card slot, a 5 MP shooter at the back, a 1500mAh battery and Android 4.1 OS. The phone is surprisingly heavy and weighs 208g. But it seems this one’s only for Chinese markets; the smartphone supports both CDMA and GSM bands, something very common in China unlike the rest of the world. We can’t wait for Samsung to launch Note III which is scheduled to be launched in September.
